About the Role A fast-growing, Berlin-based enterprise AI platform startup is looking for a Platform Engineer to help build and maintain the backbone of their multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure. Founded in 2023 and backed by notable investors, the company serves thousands of enterprise customers and is scaling rapidly. You'll be a critical hire on a small, high-calibre team, working on-site in Berlin. This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and security — partnering closely with both internal Product Engineers and external customer IT teams to enable reliable, compliant, and scalable AI deployments across diverse cloud environments. What You'll Do Manage and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment Deploy and maintain the platform across multiple customer cloud environments, including GCP, AWS, Azure, and OpenShift Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code tools ( Terraform, Bicep ) Monitor and optimize application performance and infrastructure costs Ensure security and compliance standards are upheld across all cloud environments Collaborate with Product Engineers to support the rollout of new features Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues promptly Document deployment processes and maintain runbooks for different customer environments What We're Looking For Must-haves: 3+ years of software or platform engineering experience Native-level German or minimum B2 German proficiency — required for direct customer communications with enterprise IT teams Proven hands-on experience with platform-level engineering responsibilities (deployment, infrastructure ops, reliability) Experience deploying and operating enterprise platforms across Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or OpenShift Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Azure Container Apps, and GitHub Actions Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis in production environments Solid understanding of security best practices in cloud deployments Strong CS fundamentals and ability to implement and uphold platform reliability standards Nice to have: Experience with infrastructure cost optimisation and observability tooling Familiarity with Bicep for Azure infrastructure automation Background working with enterprise customers or in a customer-facing infrastructure capacity Compensation & Benefits Salary: €75,000 – €120,000 per year, depending on experience Visa sponsorship available Opportunity to join a small, high-impact engineering team at an early stage Work on cutting-edge enterprise AI infrastructure used by thousands of organisations Location This is a full-time, on-site role based in Berlin, Germany .
