Software Engineer - Operations

<h3>Your Mission</h3> <p>As a Software Engineer on our Happiness Delivery team, you’ll help shape the future of On’s customer experience. Working at the core of our Operations technologies team cluster. You’ll develop services and intelligent solutions that make every customer interaction smoother and more effective, improve satisfaction and drive long-term loyalty. You’ll build solutions that leverage AI and automation to deliver personalised support experiences and improve the efficiency of our support teams.</p> <h3>What you'll do</h3> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using our modern tech stack, with a primary focus on <strong>NestJS, TypeScript, </strong>and<strong> GraphQL</strong>.</li> <li>Design, develop, and maintain full-stack solutions for our Happiness Delivery agents to efficiently assist our customers whether on a phone call, chat or an email case using <strong>NestJS/TypeScript/Vue.js</strong>.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end features.</li> <li>Deliver clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, and contribute to a culture of high quality and continuous improvement through code reviews and pair programming.</li> <li>Deploy and operate your services in a cloud-native environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), using Kubernetes and Docker.</li> <li>Engage with and contribute to our distributed systems landscape, helping to build resilient systems.</li> </ul> <h3>Your Story</h3> <ul> <li>A strong background in backend development, with proven experience building and shipping high-quality software.</li> <li>Proficiency in <strong>NestJs/Next.js</strong> and <strong>TypeScript</strong>, with a deep understanding of modern backend frameworks.</li> <li>Solid experience in designing, building, and consuming <strong>GraphQL/RESTFul APIs</strong>.</li> <li>Solid knowledge of relational databases (e.g., <strong>PostgreSQL</strong>) and data modeling.</li> <li>Experience with cloud platforms (<strong>GCP</strong> is a plus) and containerization technologies (<strong>Docker</strong>, <strong>Kubernetes</strong>).</li> <li>A solid understanding of <strong>frontend development</strong> and experience with <strong>modern web technologies</strong> to build seamless user experiences.</li> <li>You are a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, comfortable working in an agile environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Bonus points for experience with:</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, BullMQ, Pub/Sub)</li> <li>Working with customer support tools such as Salesforce, Talkdesk</li> </ul> <h3>Your team</h3> <p>As a team of software engineers from diverse technical backgrounds, we are united by a single mission: to create the most premium customer support experience in the world.</p> <p>To achieve this, we focus on:</p> <ul> <li>Building the Complete Experience: We develop and support both our customer-facing applications and the internal tools that empower our Happiness Delivery agents to provide world-class support.</li> <li>Driving Innovation and Automation: We leverage a modern tech stack (NestJS, TypeScript, GCP) to innovate with automation, AI, building proactive and intelligent solutions that anticipate customer needs.</li> <li>Engineering a Connected Ecosystem: We are responsible for the full lifecycle of our software, from designing robust integrations with critical systems like Salesforce and Talkdesk to ensuring our platforms are reliable, scalable, and performant.</li> </ul> Find Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow
